Thistle Northwest Mainsail

This sail has a slightly rounder leech and is slightly more mainsheet-sensitive. It is also flatter, with the draft farther aft and a relatively closed leech.

The Northwest mainsail excels on flat water, and it has extremely high pointing capabilities. It’s considered a slightly more demanding sail to trim.
