2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 Nationals!
The Fisher mainsail won four of the last five Nationals. It is a very pleasing sail to trim and is exceptionally smooth. While slightly flatter down low than the DSD, it is full and powerful up high for true all-around performance. It is a slightly more mainsheet sensitive sail and due to its lighter, stiffer fabric reacts quickly to changes...
The Proctor mainsail excels in light to medium wind and is an easy sail to trim. It is relatively full up top with flatter lower sections, and the draft is slightly farther aft than the Fisher main. It is built with softer, slightly heavier fabric so it is less mainsheet sensitive but more cunningham sensitive. The traveler helps depower and...
New for 2021!
The new DSD+ Mainsail is another step forward in North Sails goal to make the fastest sails possible. The latest sail design incorporates a slight luff curve modification to induce shape and power down low, and clean up some of the larger overbend wrinkles that existed in the previous version. This main is very popular with sailors on inland lakes...
This sail has a slightly rounder leech and is slightly more mainsheet-sensitive. It is also flatter, with the draft farther aft and a relatively closed leech. The Northwest mainsail excels on flat water, and it has extremely high pointing capabilities. It's considered a slightly more demanding sail to trim.
A two-time Nationals winner, the Fisher jib has been made slightly fuller in the entry so it is even easier to steer when the conditions get tricky...light, shifty breeze or heavy winds with big slop. Testing has proved that this jib still points to the moon on flat water or in big breeze. Built out of Dimension Polyant 180 SqHTP.
2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 Nationals!
Winner of the last four Nationals, the Proctor jib has recently been refaired to be slightly fuller in the front. It is prettier than ever and a dream to steer. It is a full, powerful sail with an exceptionally wide steering groove and tremendous power in light to medium winds. Built out of Dimension Polyant 180 SqHTP.
The DSD jib matches the back side of the DSD mainsail shape to provide perfect slot symmetry from top to bottom. With the radial foot section and custom clew cover, this sail stands up to the rigors of Thistle sailing. Built out of Dimension Polyant 180 SqHTP.
This sail has a much flatter entry and the draft is farther aft, which gives it tremendous pointing capabilities in flat water when the steering is less critical. It is built from a lighter, firmer fabric that reacts quickly in light shifty conditions.
