The Pacific Class has been a one design racing class in Southern California since it was designed by San Diego’s George Kettenburg in 1929. 84 of these beautiful wooden classics have been built over the years. With a narrow waterline, long overhangs, and lots of sail area, these boats are a joy to sail in the light to moderate winds of Southern California.
These boats have a special place in the history of San Diego Yacht Club, since most of the boats were built just around the corner at George Kettenburg’s boat yard. The boats also have a special spot physically at the club, where about 15 of them are lined up in the water on “PC Row,” a special section of the SDYC docks.
