The International Folkboat is a true classic with Scandinavian heritage that is equally well suited to competitive racing, lazy coastal cruising, or rough open water crossings. North Sails offers designs for both racing and cruising.
Modern sail design carefully adjusted to IF-boat characteristics makes our sails unmatched in both pointing and speed over the entire wind range. We are active in the class ourselves, so development is an on-going process.
A championship winning sail from the very beginning. Built with radial panel orientation using North Sails NorDac Radian cloth. The cloth/layout combination provides better shape holding as the wind increases making it a true all-purpose sail. This is the only genoa you need!
Wind range: 16+ knots A jib designed to the new class rule with increased area and a lower clew. This sails requires new jib tracks further forward and inboard, see our tuning information. A winning sail in conditions above 16 knots of wind.
A new jib made possible by the new class rule. Increased area with longer dimensions and a jib roach. This sail gives the boat sufficient power also in a moderate breeze. With a higher clew compared to the racing jib this sail suits the standard jib tracks.
All-purpose genoa for the International Folkboat, built with hard tempered racing dacron in a cross cut layout. The entry of the sail is round for easy steering and built in twist to create an upper slot between Mainsail and Genoa leech. Simple to use and tune.
